Non-Conflict Minerals policy

Non-Conflict Minerals policy - “No purchase & No use of conflict metals”

The armed rebel organizations in Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC) and its surrounding countries in Africa have caused many social and environmental problems through metal mining and trade. Including human rights violation and armed violence, which has caused international controversy. Such metal minerals are Tantalum(TA), Tin(Sn), Tungsten(W), Cobalt(Co) and Gold(Au). The above-mentioned metals from DRC and its adjacent conflict areas are called Conflict Minerals.

DSQ TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD. is committed to investigate the supply chain thoroughly to ensure that metals such as Gold(Au), Cobalt(Co), Mica, Tin(Sn), Tantalum(Ta), and Tungsten(W) are neither mined by anarchist groups or illegal groups from mining areas within the conflict areas in Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC), nor obtained through illegal smuggling.

In order to defend human rights and castigate illegal acts in conflict areas, we support responsible procurement of minerals such as Responsible Business Alliance(RBA) and Global e-Sustainability Initiative(GeSi). We also follow the guidelines of Responsible Minerals Initiative(RMI) and announce Non-Conflict Material policy on our website to discharge our social responsibilities.

In response to the global boycott of conflict minerals, DSQ TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD. promises not to use conflict minerals.

 1. We do not purchase conflict metals produced from conflict and high-risk areas.

 2. We require our suppliers not to use conflict metals from conflict and high-risk areas. If the conflict metal is from a conflict area, it must be produced from non-conflict mines and smelters, which are verified by a third party. If conflict minerals are unintentionally used in DSQ’s products, we must be notified immediately to take necessary actions as soon as possible.

3. We also conduct due diligence on the metal sources of our suppliers. We use RMI’s Conflict Minerals Reporting Template(CMRT) as a survey form, requiring our suppliers to disclose the source of the minerals, signing a non-conflict mineral commitment, and expecting them to abide by the policy of non-conflict minerals. Through responsible procurement management, we ensure that the procurement sources of DSQ and our suppliers do not come from conflict areas, and meet our customers’  and regulatory requirements.

Greenhouse gas management strategies

Most of DSQ's main greenhouse gas emissions come from indirect emissions from electricity and water use. To achieve the reduction target, DSQ monitors water and electricity consumption and plans to gradually reduce usage.

Relevant specific management strategies are listed as follows:

In accordance with the DSQ ISO14001 environmental target management plan, we actively promote power saving and energy saving and carbon reduction project proposals, promote water conservation and other policies, and promote E-ization to reduce paper usage.

Continue to replace old lamps and replace them with LED high-efficiency lighting lamps to achieve power saving effects.

Based on the annual greenhouse gas self-inventory results, DSQ adjusts energy conservation and carbon reduction strategies. Employees start by implementing energy conservation and carbon reduction in daily life, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 1% per year. It gradually promotes the company's relevant greenhouse gas inventory and carbon reduction plans to achieve sustainable development. the goal of continued development.
